Katiso J Monaheng is a Master’s student in Lasers and Photonics at Ruhr University Bochum and a Student Research Assistant in the Nonlinearity Engineering group. He holds a B.Sc. in Radiation Physics from the University of Batna, Algeria, and brings a strong background in physical science education and tutoring.
In the lab, he focuses on building custom laser architectures from the ground up. His current research involves constructing a Mamyshev laser to investigate its nonlinear dynamics. By systematically mapping out the system's parameter space, his goal is to create a framework that allows researchers to deterministically select specific laser states simply by navigating the mapped parameter landscape.
