Burak Kara is an M.Sc. student in the Lasers and Photonics program at Ruhr University Bochum and a member of NLE. His research focuses on laser–matter interactions, with particular interest in ultrafast lasers and the fundamental mechanisms governing how intense laser pulses interact with materials. His work combines experimental optics, laser systems, and scientific programming to explore and improve laser-based techniques.
Before joining NLE, Burak pursued Physics and Mathematics (Double Major) degrees at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, where he worked on femtosecond laser processing of optical materials. He has experience with Laser Scanning Microscopy, galvanometric scanner systems, and automating experimental setups. He is currently researching laser–matter interactions at NLE, supporting the group's efforts to advance ultrafast laser science and its applications.
